Referat fra møte på Island i august 2024
Nordiska Maskinbefälsfederationen av 1919 avholdt sitt sekreteriatsmøte 20-21. august 2024 på Island, hvor ”Human competence as the key for a SAFE implementation of new technologies, environmental protection, health and security var utgangspunkt for land rapportutveksling på sikkerhet, kompetansebehov og styrking av den nordiske tekniske profesjon.
Safe manning personnel must understand each other
Nordic Engineer Federation meeting in Denmark 15 -17 April
Main theme was how international legislation can be influenced and implemented, nationally and internationally, competence and safe manning.
Finland also raised the challenge of nationally mixed crews.
NMF recommends that Loyalty and language safe key, especially in crisis response, and the nationality of the safe manning shall be citizens of the flag state.
NMF avhold sitt andre møte dette året
Møtet ble avholdt i Thorshavn på Færøyene. I tillegg til å gjennomgå landrapportene ble det Internasjonalt samarbeide angående STCW revisjon, Safe Fuel, MASS, presentert og diskutert og i forbindelse med felles forståelse av kW fastsettelse ble Jákup Sverri Recarce Vessle besøkt.
Med utgangspunkt i de regelverks endringer og utslipps politikk både EU og IMO nettopp har vedtatt bærer PRESS RELEASE preg av temaene karriereplanlegging og at de tekniske fakta, den menneskelige kompetansen og sikkerheten skal danne grunnlaget for videre skipsfarts miljøpolitikk.
NMF har også tatt til etterretning nordiske navigatørenes avslag på samarbeid med oss opp mot regelverk for sikkerhet og kompetanse heving for å kunne tjeneste gjøre på skip med ny teknologi og nye energier til fremdrift og manøvrering, ved å tilskrive dem at om de skulle endre mening - så er vi klar!
Secretariat meeting
This week in a meeting hosted by Norway in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, the Nordic Engineer Officers’ Federation discussed several topics, most importantly The Polar Code.
The Polar Code is intended to cover the full range of shipping-related matters relevant to navigation in waters surrounding the two poles – ship design, construction, and equipment; operational and training concerns; search and rescue; and, equally important, the protection of the unique environment and eco-systems of the polar regions.
Safety Energy Conference 2022
Nordic Engineer Officers Federation Safety Energy Conference 25. October 2022 Hotell Hasselbacken - Stockholm
The purpose of this conference where all the Nordic maritime Authority and Umbrella workers organisation participated, was to spotlight the safety and regulatory gaps in connection with alternative energy sources on propulsion and manoeuvring of ships.
NMF President – Odd Rune Malterud started the conference with the background and statement based on UN sustainable Goal who have a gap we have to close: Life on water!
The Nordic Engineer Officer Federation 15th Congress
The Nordic Engineer Officer Federation 15th Congress, 24.10 2022 in Stockholm have decided to support the Joint Declaration of Intention by the Nordic Navigators on Improved Maritime Safety in the Arctic, whit the following bullets point also approved by ITF MSC in October 2022, to ensure safety for all who have their work on board this type of ship operating in polar waters.
